Hitotsubashi University 12th Kansai Academia Symposium?“The Future of the TPP”? was held at Osaka International Convention Center, Osaka on Saturday, February 28, 2015.
After Koichi Tadenuma, President of Hitotsubashi University, made the opening remarks, Koji Murata, Executive Vice President of Hitotsubashi University, introduced the university’s profile and Junichi Sugawara, Senior Research Officer, Mizuho Research Institute, gave the keynote speech. A panel discussion followed, moderated by Jota Ishikawa, Dean, Graduate School of Economics. The panelists were Atsushi Oi, Board Member and Kansai Branch Manager, Mitsui & Co., Ltd., Masayoshi Honma, Professor, Graduate School of Agricultural and Life Sciences, The University of Tokyo, Waku Shibutani, Cabinet Secretariat, Governmental Headquarters for the TPP, Junichi Sugawara, Senior Research Officer, Mizuho Research Institute, and Taiji Furusawa, Professor, Institute of Economic Research, Hitotsubashi University.

Approximately 190 people, including employees of corporations and public agencies, students, citizens, and graduates of Hitotsubashi University, attended the symposium and asked many questions.
