The Ministry of Education, Culture, Sports, Science, and Technology announced the distribution of its 2015 Grants-in-Aid for Scientific Research (KAKENHI) on September 16, 2015.

Among schools submitting at least 50 new applications, the overall percentage of applications approved by MEXT was 26.5%; Hitotsubashi University achieved more than double this percentage, with 55.6% of its applications approved. This marks the eleventh consecutive year that Hitotsubashi has had the highest selection rate in Japan.

We will continue seeking to increase our number of applications while maintaining this extraordinarily high selection rate.
