Welcome Party for new international students held on October 17th

A Welcome Party for new international students was held on October 17th, 2016 at Mercury Hall (7th floor of Mercury Tower). About 200 guests attended the party including new international students, guests from local city halls, Josui-kai, and international volunteer groups as well as President Koichi Tadenuma, staff members and student tutors from the university.

 

The party began with President Tadenuma’s opening address, and then Deputy Mayor Kazuo Nagami from Kunitachi City Hall gave a congratulatory speech. Ms. Heo Byoel from Korea (Monbukagakusho Japanese Studies Student) answered by an impressive speech as an international student representative. A toast was proposed by Mr. Enji Okada from Josuikai. Afterward, guests enjoyed the performance by students from Asian Public Policy Program (APPP) at the School of International and Public Policy. Matcha and dry sweets were presented by tea ceremony club at Hitotsubashi University. All who attended enjoyed the party in a friendly atmosphere.

 

The party was hosted in English as well as Japanese. Everyone gave generous applause to Mr. Shu Takahashi (Graduate School of Commerce and Management) for his great MCing in English.
