Hitotsubashi University’s 6th Chubu Academia Symposium

Hitotsubashi University’s 6th Chubu Academia Symposium, “Thinking about the National Finance of Japan: Failure or Reconstruction?” was held at Midland Hall in Nagoya on Saturday, November 28, 2015.

After Professor Koji Murata, Executive Vice President, Hitotsubashi University, provided the opening remarks, Takatoyo Yasui, President of the Josuikai Nagoya Branch, delivered the first address.

We then heard from our guest speaker, Takashi Kawamura, Mayor of Nagoya City, followed by the keynote speech from Professor Motohiro Sato, Graduate School of Economics, Hitotsubashi University. After that came a panel discussion moderated by Professor Mikihiro Onishi, Faculty of Business Management, Meijo University. The panelists were Sayuri Kawamura, Senior Researcher at the Japan Research Institute, Limited, Professor Tokuo Iwaisako, Institute of Economic Research, Hitotsubashi University, and Professor Sato.

Approximately 260 people, including students, citizens, and employees of corporations and public agencies as well as graduates of Hitotsubashi University, attended the symposium and participated by asking many questions of the speakers.
