The 4th Chubu Academia Symposium

Recently the Chubu region, well-known as a mecca for manufacturing, is the most successful in the Japanese economy after Tokyo. However, in this turbulent global era, can manufacturing companies in Chubu, including Toyota, one of the greatest companies in the world, continue to be successful and create value on the global level for the next ten years without sacrificing their “quality-first” philosophy? On this occasion, through a keynote speech by Professor Kentaro Nobeoka, Dean of the Institute of Innovation Research, Hitotsubashi University, who is a representative of Japanese technical management, and the panel discussion to follow, we would like to consider how manufacturing companies in the Chubu region need to change and what the indications are.
