Welcome Party for new international students held on April 27

A Welcome Party for new international students was held on April 27, 2016 at Mercury Hall (7th floor of Mercury Tower). About 200 guests attended the party including new international students, guests from local city halls, Josui-kai, and international volunteer groups as well as President Koichi Tadenuma, staff members and student tutors from the university.

 

The party began with President Tadenuma’s opening address, and then Mr. Shoichi Korematsu from Kunitachi City Board of Education gave a congratulatory speech. Ms. Zhamal Bolotova from Kirghiz (Faculty of Commerce and Management) answered by an impressive speech as an international student representative. Mr. Enji Okada from Josuikai proposed a toast. Students from Hitotsubashi University, Tsuda College and Tokyo University of Agriculture and Technology did a great guitar performance. Matcha and dry sweets were presented by tea ceremony club at Hitotsubashi University. All who attended enjoyed the party in a friendly atmosphere.

 

The party was hosted in English as well as Japanese. Everyone gave generous applause to Ms. Chan Pujance (Faculty of Commerce and Management) for her great MCing in English.
