Hitotsubashi University 3rd Seoul Academia Symposium “What New Global Enterprises Should Be ? From Shareholder Value to Shared Value”

The third Hitotsubashi University Seoul Academia “What New Global Enterprises Should Be ? From Shareholder Value to Shared Value” will be held on Tuesday, September 16, 2014.

Facing the era of global competition, both Japanese enterprise and Korean enterprise are facing a common problem. Both countries have achieved economic growth in advance of other developing Asian nations, and now we are facing a new stage of taking responsibility in another dimension as economically advanced countries. It is obviously necessary to acquire the financial value to continue enterprises. However, this is not enough. What kind of changes are required to become a global enterprise which people respect? On this occasion, sharing cases of leading enterprises, we will analyze comparatively what both Japanese and Korean enterprises should be from the perspectives of not only Shareholder Value but also Shared Value.

Mr. Nobuya Takasugi, a senior advisor of Korea’s leading law firm, Kim & Chang, and Professor Makoto Nakano of the Graduate School of Commerce and Management will make keynote speeches, followed by a panel discussion by Professor Nakano, Mr. Naoki Kamiyama, Chief Strategist, Merrill Lynch Japan Securities Co., Ltd., Professor Lee Hyungoh of Strategy and International Management, Division of Business Administration, Sookmyung Women’s University and Mr. Nobuya Takasugi. There will also be a congratulatory address by Mr. Koro Bessho, Ambassador of Japan to Korea.

The Hitotsubashi University Seoul Academia is held to discuss issues common to Korea and Japan, and to share the results of its analyses among academics of prominent universities in Korea and Hitotsubashi University.
