Overview

Hitotsubashi University has contributed its research activities to a national and global network of research that the University and teachers have constructed, which has been taking a leading role in the Japanese Society for Social Science. Currently, the University has academic exchange programs with over 40 foreign universities and institutions, which works as a cornerstone for international joint research and exchanges of researchers among universities throughout the world. Since more and more global exchanges are needed in the development of academic research in the 21st century, Hitotsubashi University has set a goal to gain a solid footing in Asia as a state-of-the-art research hub of the social sciences. To this end, the University has started developing a major research project focusing on both fundamental and cutting-edge research.
