Information on the Probable Cases of the Influenza A (H1N1) – Swine Influenza
Five probable cases of the Influenza A (H1N1) have been identified among undergraduate students at Hitotsubashi University this week.
The University has no plan for a suspension of classes, and we are proceeding with the examinations as scheduled. While we maintain our recommendation to take the preventative measures in hygienic practices (washing your hands diligently and gargling frequently), we also suggest that you carry masks with you and put them on when necessary.
For students, staff and faculty, we ask that you consult a medical institution immediately to be evaluated if you have flu-like symptoms such as fever and refrain from coming to the campus. If you are diagnosed with the Influenza A (H1N1), please report to the University Health Centre at 042-580-8172. As for students who may miss examinations as a result of such medical consultation, you will be able to retake examinations at a later date, so please stay at home. For the details on post examinations, contact the Educational Affairs Division.
As we continue to monitor the spread of influenza A (H1N1), we may take new measures depending on the situation. We ask that you continue to act with prudence and check available information including our university website. The University may contact the students individually regarding this matter. Your cooperation is appreciated.
