The Cambridge Economic History of the Modern World will be published from Cambridge University Press.

We are very pleased to announce that The Cambridge Economic History of the Modern World edited by Stephen Broadberry, Professor of Economic History at the University of Oxford, and Kyoji Fukao, Specially Appointed Professor at the Hitotsubashi University, will be published from Cambridge University Press in August 2021.

HIAS GLECS held its Book Conference as the part of the Hitotsubashi Summer Institute 2018 from 8 to 10 August, 2018.

The Cambridge Economic History of the Modern World offers an unprecedented global account of the emergence of modern economic growth and its spread across the world since 1700. HIAS GLECS has hosted the Hitotsubashi Summer Institute every summer since 2015. Its aim is to strengthen the international collaboration among researchers studying in fields the HIAS has been focusing on. HSI contributes to promote cutting-edge research and form the network among leading scholars from all over the world. HSI 2021 will be held online this summer.
